Local Area & Activities
Highly rated "must do" the Invercargill Museum at Queen's Park, Anderson's Park, Burt Munro Museum ("World's Fastest Indian" movie), Oreti Beach where part of the movie was shot, Bill Richardson Transport Museum, Stirling Point Signpost (the South Island's most recognised southern point) and Bluff Hill Lookout, Stewart Island (including Ulva Island, famous for its native birds and flora).
A number of outdoor recreation areas like the Queen's Park and Golf Course can be found in the middle of the city, 10-minutes walk from your motel. The city is blessed with many scenic walking and cycling tracks. Splash Palace Swimming Pool is great for young and old or if speed is your thing, Kart City Go-Karts. The list just goes on. And ladies, there are all those shops to get through!
